He has been the dutch ambassador to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. And given the recent military coup and disobedience taking place in Myanmar, he was the perfect person to ask about it. Tjaco has been also the Secretary-General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration and Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
