Mike Snelling is a physiotherapist with over 30 years of experience in high performance sport. Starting his career with the Adelaide Crows in the AFL, he has spent time with Fulham FC in the EPL, England's National Rugby Team, Geelong Cats in the AFL and the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA. Working alongside some of the world's most elite athletes, Mike has seen all there is to see when it comes to success, failure and everything in between.
Mike also has his 2 sons in junior sport, has treated countless kids and teenagers in his clinic in Geelong and his experience in pro sport has allowed him to successfully guide those who work with him towards performing at their best.
In today's conversation, we discuss how resilience can take different forms, how an individual's level of focus can take them from good to great and what truly makes a great team. Along with this, we explore all the different aspects, good and bad, of junior sport and how we can help develop strong, resilient kids who can successfully overcome the many challenges that they will face in life.
I loved this conversation. Mike has a wealth of knowledge, experience and shares plenty of the wisdom that he's picked up and developed himself over the years. There are gems of knowledge everywhere in this chat. I learnt plenty over this 90 minutes, and have no doubt that you will as well.
You can follow Mike and his clinic via Instagram (@geelongsthirdspace) and get in touch with him via LinkedIn.
If you're looking to grab a copy of our journal, you can do so here ( https://amzn.asia/d/asP0gxk ) and should you be looking to support us in anyway, something as easy as starting a conversation around the podcast would be greatly appreciated.
Grab the notepad and pen, a cup of coffee and enjoy my chat with Mike Snelling.
