Jack McVeigh is a Small Forward for the Tasmania JackJumpers in the NBL. For those that have watched him play, he's been a beacon of energy, passion and enjoyment on the floor. But for Jack, basketball hasn't always been fun. Dealing with the pressure to perform, from his NCAA career at Nebraska to his Rookie season with the Adelaide 36ers, and now with the Tasmania JackJumpers, Jack's life off the floor had been dictated by his performance on it.
It was when he made a distinct effort to shift his mindset, that everything changed.
Today, we discuss Jack's background and how the pressure he put on himself to perform greatly affected his enjoyment of the game. We touch on how important good team culture is, and how the JackJumpers almost unintentionally formed one of the most tight-knit teams in the league.
We explore the life of a professional athlete, the importance of a positive mindset, and how the drive to keep learning can shift your entire perspective on life.
