With the 2021/2022 English Premier League season coming to the start of the business end, Manchester United find themselves in a measly 7th position on the league table. Having played 30 games (so far) and not having a 50% winning percentage is the biggest concern for the Red Devils. The 9 draws were wasted points and the losses then came as no surprise. United seems to be incredibly unstable and it seems as though everything started to fall apart when Fergie left-back in 2013. As of right now, Manchester United does not have a concrete coach as Ralf Rangink is merely an interim coach but what happens when his 6-month coaching contract comes to an end? Ralf will then step up to the director of football at the club, but in terms of coaches, there seems to be one man who's on top of United’s list. Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman has had some wonderful success with Ajax Amsterdam (current coaching job).
Reports suggest that the deal to bring the 52-year-old to Old Trafford is ‘almost done' and the release clause in his contract could be a big reason why current PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino isn’t leading the race (amongst other things). Ten Hag is set to bring in some big-name players and with his expertise, hopefully, he can turn things around for the Red Devils.
