The Carnage Report Episode 73: Dark Match
Hello and welcome to The Carnage Report, where we bring you the latest on all things horror-related, keeping you up to date with news you can use. Hosted by Julie Holland and Nick Spacek, this part of the Cinepunx family looks to fill a hole in your podcast feed by looking at new releases in the theaters, on-demand, and streaming, and featuring an in-depth discussion of a new release each episode.
On this episode of the podcast, Julie and Nick take a look at the wrestling horror film, Dark Match, directed by Lowell Dean, now streaming on Shudder. They also suggest a few other movies with wrestlers and cults. Plus, the pair discuss trailers galore for Mickey 17, Hell of a Summer, The Dead Thing, and more (all of which you can check out below), while once again covering some amazing casting news in the Scream 7 corner. Also, Julie and Nick discuss the strangest things they’ve ever seen at a wrestling event.
All this, and in the latest installment of The Gate, we spoke with creator/co-writer Bitter Karella and co-writer/producer/actor/musician Robin Johnson about their podcast, Submitted for the Approval of the Midnight Pals, where famous horror authors, living and dead, gather around a campfire to tell their strange and scary stories, and asked them the question, “What was the horror that first hooked you?”
Music by Steve Spacek, who you can find on Instagram @starlingwoodworks and on Bandcamp.
