#64: Wanjira Wanjiru on Liberation, Loss of Fear and birthing a new generation of love & Patriotism!
In this high powered episode spotlighting a most eloquent and driven Wanjira Wanjiru, the BBB duo celebrate courage, conviction and the call to do better. While highlighting the seeds that she endeavors to plant, Kamande and Kigondu explore Wanjira’s becoming; taking notes on the endurance, mettle, brains and experiences that have chopped up as sharp and ballsy an activist. The episode traverse’s seasons of deep loss courtesy of police extra judicial killings, poverty, pain and protests, to those of light, loving teachers, a most loving father, parenting, successful assemblies and institutions of hope. As much as the conversation highlights efforts reforming the justice system, efforts consolidating, liberating and building towards a hopeful ballot revolution - this episode is truly about the inevitability of change, need for loss of fear, dignity as a birth rite, the power of literature and the importance of revisiting history in liberating minds. It is also a scream for consequential conversations around graft, land injustices, an inept police system and the incomplete liberation of Africa.
