The Bus Driver Experience

Imagine what it would be like to travel the world, meet the most amazing people on the road, learn from them and gain an incredible perspective about how they live.

Now imagine being able to do that from your home.

I created The Bus Driver Experience as a way to gain a new perspective from the unique lives of other people - Olympic athletes, monks, porn stars - to not just learn, but EXPERIENCE what it’s like to be in their shoes for a day.

And do it in a way unlike how every other travel/interview show does it. Most other shows merely talk with these individuals.

But talking with these people isn’t enough for me.

I want to live their unique story. To understand not only what they go through in their day to day, but also why they’re doing it.

All Sources Are Not Equal - James Underdown - Bus Driver Experience - Ep. 29

James Underdown has been the executive director of The Center for Inquiry (CFI) Los Angeles since 1999. The Center for Inquiry is a non-profit educational organization with headquarters in Amherst, New York, whose primary mission is to foster a secular society based on science, reason, freedom of inquiry, and humanist values. CFI Los Angeles is the largest branch in the organization outside Amherst.

Underdown founded the Independent Investigations Group (IIG), a volunteer-based organization, in January 2000 at the Center for Inquiry-West (now Center for Inquiry-Los Angeles) in Hollywood, California. The IIG investigates fringe science, paranormal and extraordinary claims from a rational, scientific viewpoint, and disseminates factual information about such inquiries to the public. There are Independent Investigation Groups in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Denver, and Alberta, Canada. Altogether, the Independent Investigations Groups are the largest paranormal investigations team in the world.

The IIG offers $250,000 to anyone who can prove paranormal or supernatural ability under test conditions, and has in the past administered preliminary demonstrations for the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) $1,000,000 Paranormal Challenge.

James and I discuss why you shouldn't form conclusions and biases before you do your research, how CFI combat religion and anyone else using the government as leverage to control groups of people and many more skeptical topics.
