Mufti Wasim Khan was born in Dallas, Texas, and began his journey in Islamic knowledge at a very young age. After spending considerable months improving his Quran recitation at Jami’atul ‘Ilm Wal-Huda in the UK, Mufti Wasim embarked on a decade-long ‘Aalim training program. After studying in 4 different continents, Mufti Wasim graduated in 2010 from Darul Uloom Zakariyya. After graduation, Mufti Wasim studied for an additional 2 years at Darul Uloom Zakariyya to complete the iftaa course (for learning the discipline of giving fatwa) and to further specialize in the sciences of Tafseer, Hadith, and Fiqh – fields in which he holds multiple ijazaat.

Mufti Wasim currently holds the second shortest sanad in the world to the Prophet Mohammed (s) through the sanad of Maulana Makki Hijazi. Amongst his most prominent teachers are Mufti Radha ul Haq, Sheikh Makki Hijazi, Sheikh Shoaib Arnaoot, Sheikh Muhammed Awwamah, and Sheikh Mohammed Ali Saabuni.

In addition to currently serving as the Director and Dean of ISRA Foundation, Mufti Wasim is a regular speaker across North America at conferences, workshops, youth programs, social services events, and development programs. In 2014, Mufti Wasim joined the Institute of Islamic Education in Illinois as a full-time teacher, teaching Aqeedah, Hadith, and Fiqh among other subjects. In 2015, Mufti Wasim presented his thesis on abortion at the American Muslim Jurist Assembly (AMJA), making him the youngest presenter at this conference. Mufti Wasim is extensively involved in Houston and Dallas, TX communities, active in counseling, interfaith work, community representation, and teaching classes at various institutions.

Some of Mufti Wasim’s projects over the past few years include the founding of ISRA Foundation and Khateeb Notes. Mufti Wasim serves as the Vice-President of his family business, Caravan Travel, through which he takes regular Hajj and Umrah groups.
