Session 005: Becca Dean | The Girls' Network
This week the boys are lucky enough to be joined by Becca Dean, Co-Founder of The Girls’ Network. The Girls’ Network is an amazing charity that provides one-to-one mentoring to girls from the most disadvantaged communities in England, which currently works with 2,000 girls every year. Becca began her career as a teacher, before realising that girls needed access to greater opportunities and support to reach their career goals. She tells Ross, Henry and Tom about how this provided her lightbulb moment for starting The Girls’ Network. Becca then explains the process of recruiting the first mentors, and how the movement developed from a networking evening into a hugely successful nationwide scheme.  The boys and Becca also discuss gender inequality, some of the incredible success stories of the mentoring scheme, and her goals for the future of The Girls’ Network. ----more---- Check out The Girls’ Network: https://www.facebook.com/thegirlsnetwork/ https://thegirlsnetwork.org.uk https://twitter.com/TheGirlsNet https://www.instagram.com/thegirlsnetwork/
