As my mentor in the Mental Health department of the university we work for, Prof. Edmund Alfonso has been a pioneer in developing projects for nurses in clinical, theory, and simulation with a heavy focus on Psychiatry & Mental Health Nursing. Once known as the "face" of the university, he has spread a powerful message of positive Mental Health practices. Having worked with him in different capacities in the field of Mental Health over the past 11 years, I asked him to come on The Broken Instruments to share some of those perspectives.
I am grateful that, in this podcast, he describes a deeper side of his personal Life that no one generally sees. We dive-in on personal struggles with Mental Health, starting a Family, & the current state of Mental Health in our Community.
