There's The Guy Who's Great on Paper to The Guy Who Texts "sup" at 2 a.m. I interview Gabi about those 20 dates and looking back what she's learned from them in hindsight.

The Breakup Evolution
from dating coach to breakup coach: paige wilhide

How does one go from being a dating coach to breakup coach? According to Paige, it's surprisingly related. Paige talks about how she guides people through breakups and gets them to the other side of it. For Paige, herself, it's been a journey. She moves cities. She changes jobs. She cries in front of a lot of strangers.

The Breakup Evolution
nyt's essayist on his thoroughly thorough dating system: alex kruger

Alex Kruger enjoys efficiency. It's a major part of his job at work and naturally, it felt right to optimize with dating, too. He constructed a dating system to truly get down to it -- who fits the checklist? Who is worth getting off the couch for? Who moves to the next column?

Obviously, our romantic side protests much, in response to such a systemized approach, but why not see if it could, just actually work? We talk about the system, make *live* changes to it, and talk about the heartbreak that comes from one of the checkboxes.

Follow Alex on Instagram and read his NYT article.

finding independence and starting a travel company: monica irauzqui

Monica Irauzqui is the co-founder of worldwide travel company Yampu Tours. She's a New York Times Travel Show Speaker and has been featured in a number of publications, as an expert on travel destinations in Central and South America.

She started the company 22 years ago with her husband and now goes on amazing adventures with him, their clients, and their two children.

Monica talks about the whirlwind romance she had in her 20s, which took her all over – from living in Hawaii to Paris to New York. As she describes it, she was living Sex And The City, before it was even written! It was this breakup that inspired Monica to wholeheartedly embrace her love of travel and to even, found a company around it.

While I had her on the line, I had to ask her for her travel recommendations, specifically where to go when getting over a breakup. Stay tuned for her response on the best places to go and what to do there.

breaking up with alcohol, from pint stealer to fizzy water warrior: drunkmummysobermummy

Victoria Vanstone. Author. Ex-Pint Stealer and Podium Hogger. Mother. Fizzy Water Warrior. That's her description in her own words and I had to use it because it's so brilliant and after our chat, I have to admit, so accurate.

Vic is the creator of the blog Drunk Mummy Sober Mummy and The Sober Social community for people questioning their relationship with alcohol. We delve into her own experience with alcohol over the years and how she realized it was time to finally break up.  Vic has a way of inviting you in to her life as a close friend, being extremely candid about experiences that can be quite dark, but also doing so with humor.

Just a head's up -- that whistling or chirping that you'll hear throughout? Those are wild parrots at Victoria's house! Picture luscious, luscious greenery with tons of trees, birds, and I think she even mentioned a giant lizard. Picture this while you're listening to our conversation.
