Chris Kirkland is a former professional goalkeeper with appearances for clubs including Wigan, Liverpool, Sheffield Wednesday & England.   

As a professional footballer he spent 17 seasons playing, before announcing he was taking time away from the game in August 2016, shortly after joining Bury due to mental health issues including anxiety and depression.
