How to Move out of the Freeze Response: 3 Actionable Steps to Move Forward

Welcome back to the Body Wisdom Podcast!

Today, we are discussing a topic that many have asked about: navigating and moving out of the freeze response. As the nervous system continues to gain awareness across the collective, more people are recognizing and understanding that the feeling of being stuck or unmotivated may be linked to the freeze response. This episode explains what happens in the brain during the freeze response, why it occurs, and how to move forward from it.

Tune in to discover:

• Why stressful moments trigger the oldest part of the brain, causing the higher brain functions to shut down.

• How the limbic system and reptilian brain take over, leading to feelings of dissociation, numbness, and shutdown.

• Symptoms of the freeze response include feeling heavy, dissociated, and having foggy memory.

• What I learned from working with trauma patients in hospitals that revealed to me that movement can help process emotional trauma.

• Actionable steps to navigate the freeze response.
