In the Season 1 finale of The Body Pod, Justine & Alayna dive deep into the controversial topic of intentional weight loss. This was one of the overarching topics in all of our interviews this season. We discuss our honest opinions about the desire to lose weight after intuitive eating, and how the desire for weight loss has affected us personally. We touch on the Health at Every Size (HAES) movement and the difference between Body Positivity and having radical self acceptance. We go deep into our own experiences with working on accepting our bodies in their current states, and talk about how to foster an attitude of self love and acceptance that benefits your mental health and happiness.

This episode is all about the popular, but ever-confusing concept of Intuitive Eating: what it is, where it comes from, and how we implement the steps and concepts in our daily lives. By walking through the 10 principles outlined in the book “Intuitive Eating: A Revolutionary Program that Works,” we share what each principle means to us, how we do (and don’t) use them, and how everyone’s approach to this can look completely different. We also touch on our views of health at every size, body size work, what hunger means to us and the idea of gentle nutrition.
