Beer and B Movies: Episode 88 - Escape from New York (1981)
Episode 88 is a special one, folks. Escape From New York, with Rye So Dark Black IPA, kindly provided by @naughtypinebrewing. It's 1997, and due to an increase in crime, Manhattan has been walled off and turned into the country's largest prison. The president's plane has been hijacked and crashed into the prison. There's only one man who can get him out: Snake Plissken. This one's bad ass all around. John Carpenter, Kurt Russell, Adrienne Barbeau, Lee Van Cleef, Isaac Hayes, Harry Dean Stanton, Ernest Borgnine. Even Tom Atkins makes an impact in a small role. Frank Doubleday nearly steals the whole picture, though. It's a bleak view of the future, and a land of perpetual night, so a black IPA seemed appropriate. Thanks for listening!
