Imagine standing in line at your favorite coffee shop, eavesdropping on the barista's conversation with the customer in front of you. Turns out, that customer is EXTREMELY creative and interesting, maybe even low-key famous, and the barista is a pretty good interviewer, too (thanks to an undergraduate degree in communication arts from a state institution). Welcome to the Barista Friend podcast! Join barista trainer and songwriter Miranda Haney in living-room conversations with Austin musicians, chefs, comedians, and other creatives about their coffee preferences and creative practices.

3. Fruity Pour Over for Zack Wiggs

Miranda brews a kooky watermelon co-ferment for Austin's sweetest, busiest pedal steel player, Mr. Zack Wiggs!

Zack Wiggs is a multi-talented musician from Lake Jackson, TX. You can hear him rip the pedal steel guitar in several local projects, including the Oh Hellos, Brody Price, Pelvis Wrestley, and Harry and Emmy. Most recently, Zack won a 2024 Austin Music Award for Best Miscellaneous Instrument (pedal steel). He's currently working full-time as a session musician and touring band member.

The Barista Friend Podcast is produced, recorded, and edited by Miranda Haney in Austin, Texas. Anthony Bazzini created the theme music. The fine folks at Binx Corp Espresso help make this podcast possible.
