Andrew Nixon recently sat down for a conversation with Dame Tracey Crouch, former MP for Chatham and Aylesford and a former Minister for Sport, and of course the former chair of the now famous Fan Led Review which resulted in the White Paper on Football Governance.

In this first part, amongst other topics, Andrew and Dame Tracey discussed how the Fan Led Review came about, the influencing factors – including Bury, COVID-19, and the Super League – as well as the extent of the consultation, the themes and of course the 10 recommendations. Andrew and Dame Tracey also discussed the club licensing conditions, how football cannot be treated like any other interchangeable commercial enterprise and what we can expect from the independent football regulator, the first of its type.
