In this episode we discussed and explored the interesting and unseen world of Supply Chain Management, our guest Carmen Del Pino is a Supply Chain expert and consultant with over 20 years of experience in logistics and strategic project management. Carmen’s corporate experience is very interesting since she has had the opportunity to work for global organizations like Procter & Gamble and Unilever on one hand but also worked at SMEs with local and regional operations. Nowadays Carmen continues to implement Supply Chain Solutions at a consulting and outsourcing level providing best practices in Integrated Business Planning (IBP) / S&OP creating the framework for effective business decision-making.   

There is an incredible amount of talent and experience on this podcast table as we got together Carmen with two of our most knowledgable faculty members, Dr. Miya Burt-Stewart (MBA) an experienced business owner and consultant with a great understanding of processes and operations, and also Prof. Alex Lima who is an expert in Supply Chain Technologies and Implementations. Thus we believe this conversation will result in very interesting and nurturing thoughts for our communities of the Business and Technology schools.  

In the words of professor Alex, if a company is a car, Supply Chain is the engine of that car, and so some of the points they discussed in this episode are how the unexpected pandemia affected Supply Chain strategies, The differences between operations and corporate cultures working with international organizations such as P&G and Unilever and smaller companies or startups how this affects the process and dynamic of the supply chain management, how to prepare to be competitive in Supply Chain and escalate a career in the mass production and consumer goods industry.  Be focused, be strategic and be deliberate,  ready to run, always thinking how to improve the processes that surround you, this shall make you excel in business.
