When you are in pain, where is the first place you decide to go? Depending on where you choose it can have drastic consequences on your health, so choose wisely. New research proves what we already knew, but never had the data to back it up. This article shows how often pain meds and opioids are prescribed at Urgent Care, ER Departments and Primary Care offices. Its important to understand that doctors have your best interest at heart, but are so busy that their decision to treat your simple pain syndrome does not get the full attention it deserves. In this episode I talk about what you should do instead.

The 3rd Episode of the #AskDrG Show highlights the need for patient-specific care. No more generalities when it comes to patient care. The AskDrG Show #3
1. So...we typically think of athletes as being fit and healthy, yet it might be possible that they have significant issues with joints, inflammation, muscle strength, posture, nervous system, etc. How does the chiro assist in areas like these to improve and maximize sports performance? Then along the same lines, not everyone is involved in sports performance... some are seniors(like me, i guess), who can face similar issues with joints, inflammation, muscle strength, etc, so how can the chiro assist and seniors do to maximize life? Dad
2. My question isn't very deep but still a legitimate concern since I've heard people share these thoughts..How do you reach out to the patient who has not been to a chiropractor (but believes in what they're doing) but is a bit nervous or hesitant about getting an adjustment? How do you calm the fears so the patient can relax & not stiffen or become tense & make matters "worse"? Asking for a friend...Mom
3. How can I increase thoracic mobility? With some exercises, I can feel that tightness between my shoulders, and then it sill feel tight for the rest of the day. First of all - is this problematic? Second of all - does it need adjustment or just stretching/more mobilization? Brit
4. What is the best position to sleep in for your back? And is there a key to learning to sleep in a different position? Sarah M
5. Is there a recommended path for taking supplements as we age? For example: in your 30’s take this; in your 40’s add this....etc. Specifically for bone and joint health. Or is a personal evaluation necessary? Nancy
6. 1. i often feel tightness and sore at the bottom area of my neck. and sore pain at the shoulder blade area. i used to mistakenly think that liting weights will solve all these problems. However the truth is "No". It helps, but cant solve the root problem. All i can tell you is that i only feel released when i carry heavy weights downwards(straight pointing to the ground) Like a soldier stand but carrying with weights other than that, i just always feel unconfortable at those two places i mentioned above. I went and did a few times of micropuncture to let some "bad blood with lactic acid" out of my system. But i still didnt feel better. The "waste blood with lactic acid" is actually in solid state instead of liquid state to my surprise. Doc's explaination is that those things blocked the blood flow in that two area causing pain and sore. But i have no way to verify that. Do you know if it is true! Jack
