Mexican Ceremonial Traditions & Rituals with Mars Sarabia

In this episode I'm joined by my dear friend Mars Sarabia, a holistic therapist, Astro reader, dance/movement specialist, energy healer and ceremonial space holder from Baja California, Mexico. Mars has introduced me to many extremely powerful ceremonial rituals through the course of our friendship. In this conversation, we focus on the Native Mexican ceremonial ritual known as The Moon Dance (La Danza de Luna), which I was honoured to experience in Mexico alongside Mars in June of 2021. In this 4-day ceremony uniting women across ages and races under the guidance of an appointed female Native elder, known as an Abuela, we danced through the night under the full moon, as well as sang, prayed, connected with ourselves, one another, and our ancestors, but most importantly through this process, we accepted the sacred medicine of Mother Earth and her elemental forces to heal the collective and ancestral wounds we carry. We discuss various elements of this ancient ceremony; from the healing power of temazcals rituals to the traditions of the Native American Red Path to the role of the divine masculine in holding space for the true expression of the feminine to heal and create.
