Starting her music career from an early age entertaining troops and wartime audiences on the wireless, she went on to release numerous hit singles including the Grammy Award winning "Downtown". She has also made a name for herself on the big screen with films such as "Finian's Rainbow" and "Goodbye Mr. Chips", as well as on stage, starring in "Blood Brothers" and "The Sound of Music".
