These are the creatives that craft the characters you love and love to hate. They have spoken no lines, don't appear onscreen and might not be famous, but that show you love doesn't happen without them. This is The Art Dept. © 2018-2019 Fusion Media management, Inc.

This is The Art Dept. | 1 | True Stories from the Art Department
This is The Art Dept., a podcast dedicated to those that construct the sets, production designers, illustrators, props, fabrication, wardrobe, set decorators and all the other craftsmen and women who make movie and TV magic. I’m Josh Cooperman, I host and produce Convo By Design. A show dedicated to the design and architecture industries. I first started interviewing set decorators in 2014 and have been following them and their work ever since. The Art Dept. was created to showcase the amazing individuals behind the camera who don’t with a single word, say a single line or appear on screen. Yet, their work defines the experience of your favorite shows, commercials and movies. The entertainment industry is like no other. There are long hours, hard, long hours. Members of the art department don’t say ‘no.’ And they don’t take shortcuts. This is an industry that breaks the rules everyday to get the job done. And they make it happen so we can enjoy their work and escape reality for a little while. This is episode number one and I wanted to give you a sample of what you are going to hear this season on The Art Dept. Oscar winner, Victor Zolfo tells me what it was like winning an Oscar. This is amazing. This is Emmy Award winner winner, Kimberly Wannop. She was asked a series of questions about her work, career, what people don’t know about her work and what she would like to to… Set decorator William DeBiasio was asked the same questions… Brandi Kalish is an Emmy nominated set decorator with crazy skills and a beautiful imagination. She talks about find her way and the work once she got there… Artist Nick Lopez makes art from scrap wood. He is exactly the type of artist that finds his work on set. His creative process is organic and he can make a piece to fit the specs of a script. Art commissioned by fictional characters Every episode will feature members of Hollywood elite, the A-Listers who make TV and movie magic every day.
