Episode 2 - Hugh Allan of Mothra - The Aotearoa Guitar Show
Kia ora! Today we hear from Hugh Allan, guitarist for the Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland three-piece instrumental group Mothra. Hugh tells us about how Mothra formed, his favourite venues from across the motu, new music from the band coming, and the destruction of a Jackson guitar at the mercy of a vehicle backing over it. If you are listening to this before April 5-6th 2024, and are in Te Whanganui a Tara Wellington on the 5th, or Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland on the 6th you can catch Hugh with Mothra opening for Hötchiwitch featuring Peter Mengede (Handsome / Helmet) which has Hugh also playing second guitar for the headliner, pumping out the entire Handsome album and some Helmet tunes as well.
