Solomon wants us to be careful as we enter the house of the Lord. He wants us to remind ourselves when we step into church, who we are, where we are and who and where God is. He tells us to be quiet, keeping our words few and should we make any promises to God or others, to ensure that we fulfill those promises quickly. Our Lord, in Matthew chapter 5, tells us that we should not make oaths in our normal lives but that as followers of Christ, our yes needs to be yes and our no needs to be no. ...
