Welcome (back) to The All-Canadian Podcast, powered by the All-Canadian Sports Network!
As we count down to Christmas, we are releasing a new podcast episode each day from December 1st to 25th, kind of like an audio advent calendar. Day Thirteen features Johnna Rymes, the 2022 ACAC Women's Badminton Player of the Year. Rymes joins host Tyler Bennett to discuss a variety of topics in an episode designed to shed some much-needed and well-deserved light on the sport of Badminton.
Rymes kicks off the show by discussing how she first got involved in Badminton, which is a story that many younger siblings can relate to as they were growing up. She touches on the junior circuits for Badminton, both in Alberta and across the country, discussing how one is able to compete in the sport throughout their career at various levels. Rymes looks at her ACAC career to-date and what lies ahead in 2022-23. Then, Bennett and Rymes discuss how to potentially bring more attention and respect to Badminton in our country.
