
This week we go back in time with former Geelong and Brisbane ruckman Damian Bourke. Damian reminisces about his career, reflects on some of special moments during his time in the game.
A local St Joseph's product, Damian began his career with the Geelong Football CLub in the U19 system in 1982, he won the club best and fairest that season, progressing on to the senior list the following season. Damian was named skipper in 1987, leading the team into the famous 1989 Grand Final. During his 10 years at Geelong, he played 102 games before moving to Brisbane Bears for the 1993 season.
In this chat, Damian talks about his surprise of being named captain, the 1989 season and Grand Final, his unlucky run with injuries, rucking to quality midfielders, the move to Brisbane and climbing Mt Everest.
