Path of Exile 2. IGN reports that Grinding Gear Games’s sequel to its smash hit ARPG has launched in Early Access, and is receiving some tuning to its loot drop rates to make it feel less punishing.
The Game Awards. Polygon reported the list of winners. Notable titles include Astro Bot for winning Best Game, Best Game Direction, Best Action/Adventure Game, and Best Family Game (notably winning over Princess Peach Showtime, Super Mario Party Jamboree, and Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom). Balatro won Best Mobile Game and Best Indie Game, and Frostpunk 2 defeated Unicorn Overlord for Best Strategy Game. Baldur’s Gate 3 won Best Community Support.
Witcher 4. Polygon reports that CD Projekt Red is making Cirilla the protagonist of the next title in the series.
Wyrmwood. Rascal reports that the gaming-aligned woodworking company has laid off 50% of its workers and filmed both the management discussions leading up to it and the ensuing discussions with the remaining workers.
