Balancing Marathon Training and Getting a Ph.D. with Amy Veidheffer

On today’s episode, I have Amy Veidheffer on the show to discuss all about how to balance school, life, and running. She shares her journey with running and how she became passionate about the sport. Then, she describes her journey with obtaining her Ph.D. and her future aspirations. Today, we have a detailed discussion about how to manage life as a full-time student and marathon training. We talk about the importance of removing expectations of perfection, finding your identity in and out of school, and how to practically fuel and rest to balance each component. We also discuss the importance of giving yourself grace through different seasons of life, and accepting changes that may occur to running performance based on different seasons. This is a great episode if you are navigating how to best balance life and training, or if you are feeling discouraged about training and need a source of hope!
