Episode thirty two - Three centimeters at twenty weeks

Welcome to That NICU Mum, a podcast where we share the stories of New Zealand parents who have had a baby in a neonatal unit across the country.

Today we speak with Caroline, whos boy Tyler was born at 23+6 after discovering at her anatomy scan that she was 3cm dialated. Caroline speaks of the scary conversations she had not thinking that her baby was going to survive, her resounding need to know the facts and also hold out hope, their long, long NICU stay and how Tyler is doing now at 6 months old.

She also talks about how every journey is important but also every journey is different, and that that's important for her to share as she was in the position, before Tyler was born, where she needed optimism but also a reality check.

Caroline is a beautiful speaker, and I hope you enjoy.

Shan x x
