In episode 1 of That movie sounds gay, I'll be talking about Rope (1948).
Although it's generally not considered to be on the same level as some of Hitchcock's other, more famous works, this episode will cover some of the reasons why I think it's still a very interesting film. Specifically, the gay reasons.
This episode will be looking at the relationship between Brandon and Phillip (obviously), but also the relationship between Brandon and Rupert (maybe less obviously?). Also, how this unique film came to be. That means the original play by Patrick Hamilton, Leopold and Loeb, the scriptwriting process, and of course, the Hays Code.
