In this episode, Coach Hector, Abhi, and Coach Mike host Texas Taekwondo High Performance (HP) athlete, Adan Rivas, who recently won bronze in the men's blackbelt senior -67kg division at the 2020 US Open Taekwondo Championships. Raised in a military family, Adan began training in taekwondo at age 8 and received his black belt (Kukkiwon) at U.S. Taekwondo College in Killeen, Texas. Adan came to Texas Taekwondo in 2015 and joined the HP team where some of his accomplishments include gold at the 2018 43rd NCTA Taekwondo Championships, silver at the 2019 Canada Open Taekwondo Championships, and competing at the 2020 Senior Grand Slam at the USA Taekwondo Center of Excellence. Adan is graduating with a degree in applied mathematics and plans to become an engineer focusing on renewable resources.
