It is not our source of identity or truth, but a vessel designed to express the life of God from within. When the soul becomes an idol, we confuse emotion with revelation, personality with identity, and preference with obedience. But when the soul is restored to its proper place under the government of the Spirit, we begin to live in union with the Father—not just positionally, but experientially.
