Tell Me A Bedtime Story: Episode One "A Walk in the Wood" by Dr. Joseph and Nancy Parent

The Tell Me A Bedtime Story series was developed for older adults, especially adults who like to have books read to them, adults with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, and older adults who may need a little help falling to sleep.  Each week, Dr. Lori will read 12-15 minutes of a calm, mindful story specially selected for this population of adults.  Although the readings are developed for a specific population, they are also useful for all age groups, and many of the episodes, especially the first few, are helpful for Caregivers.

Dr. Lori's calm and quiet manner of speaking are perfect for bedtime reading.  She seems to be in the room with you. Each episode ends with a brief meditation or mindfulness suggestion, reminding you to be in the here and now, be kind to yourself and others, and remember to breathe.

The Tell Me A Bedtime Story Series is produced by The James M. Dixon Foundation for Alzheimer's and Dementia Research and Support, Inc.  For more information on The Foundation, please visit the website @ thejamesmdixonfoundationinc.com.  If you have any questions, would like to subscribe to the newsletter, suggest a book, need more information about the book that is being read or would like to contact Dr. Lori, please send an email message to mindfulcaring@aol.com.
