Evelyn Hollow: A Halloween Descent into the Uncanny

Evelyn Hollow: A Halloween Descent into the Uncanny

🎙️Episode Overview

In this episode, Steve Otis Gunn sits down with Scottish writer and paranormal psychologist Evelyn Hollow, best known for her work on BBC’s Uncanny, The Witch Farm, and The Battersea Poltergeist. From growing up surrounded by Scottish folklore to teaching paranormal psychology and performing on the Uncanny: Fear of the Dark live tour, Evelyn explores why the unknown continues to fascinate us.

She and Steve dive deep into dreams, darkness, and the fine line between science and the supernatural — from recurring nightmares and “the Night-Night Man” to the psychology behind hauntings, paganism, and the terrifying implications of AI. Expect eerie stories, sharp wit, and profound insight from one of the most compelling voices in modern paranormal research.

Episode Highlights:

  • Inside the Uncanny: Fear of the Dark live tour
  • Why Evelyn calls herself a “skeptical believer”
  • The science and spirituality behind consciousness
  • How paganism differs from satanic myth
  • The horror of AI and the “digital necromancy” it creates
  • Why some fears — like the dark — will always stay with us

Perfect for fans of Uncanny, the paranormal, and anyone who’s ever wondered what might be waiting just beyond the edge of reason.
