Talking Out Your Arts is a podcast highlighting how art and creativity exists in our world, from the known to the many unexpected and often unappreciated places. From festival directors, to athletes, politicians and so on. People often think of art and creativity as an abstract activity that has no correlation to our basic existence. In this podcast we aim to uncover how artists exist across all fields, and how creativity is used to curate our everyday experiences. We talk with some of the leaders in creative fields across genres, and go further into the various facets of our working lives to look at the unexpected artists in our world. You may even find that you are an artist and you didn’t even realize it.

Paul Carberry

In this episode, we talk with Paul Carberry. Paul is an engineer who had the vision to redesign the classic Enfield Bullet and take it to Enfield Motorcycles in India to get it on the production line. This vision took him on a 20-year journey of researching, development, building a team, building a prototype, pitching to Enfield, etc. It's a story with many ups and downs, a story of dedication, and a real example of vision and tenacity to bring your ideas to reality.

The core elements of design, development, entrepreneurship, and passion that are explored in this discussion about Pauls's journey are something we can relate to as artists. It was also interesting to hear what elements of the design within engineering drew on aesthetics, and which elements were purely pragmatic.
