Minstrel Show: The Jazz Singer

What is America’s obsession with Black-face?! It definitely has nothing to do with jazz. Join Chris and Kevin as we venture down the racist rabbit hole, with The Jazz Singer. Welcome to The Minstrel Show edition of Talking Musical History. In addition to talking about both the original Al Jolson 1927 classic break through, Neil Diamond’s 1980’s gem of a remake, mention Jerry Lewis’s 1959, we also take a detour with Swing Time to see fabulous Fred and Ginger. If you would like to support us, please go to our Patreon at patreon.com/stonewallthemusical to help see history/ourstory being made. Also check out our website at skyerainbow.com Thank you so much for your continued support. We strive to bring you the best.
