Alex Pussieldi: The art of coaching

I am specially excited to introduce you to my today’s guest of the Swimvenue podcast, one of the world’s best swim coaches and legendary swimming commentator from Brazil, one and only, coach Alex. Alex told why he loves the sport of swimming (05:00), we spoke about his beginnings to the sport (06:58), and his story of becoming a coach (07:46). Alex told us about his unique coaching proposition (11:38) and about the most memorable race in his coaching career (13:49). We discussed the difference between art and science of swimming (17:04) and his perspective on mental training (18:36). Alex spoke about the key to success in swimming (22:00), the differences between good and great swimmer (24:06) and told the story of his team, Davie Nadadores (25:29). We then jumped to his journalism career and Alex told me what he loves the most about this work (37:32) and we discussed the popularity of swimming in his home country, Brazil (41:46).
