Rare Disease Day 28 February 2023. Over 300 Million people have been diagnosed with a rare disease. Some go for decades, frustrated with no diagnosis, misdiagnosis or confusion, not knowing what is going on inside their body.  In this episode we speak to the Founder of FD-MAS Australia, Laura Cowell who has recently launched her charity to raise awareness and partnered with Rare Voices for Rare Disease Day, to provide support and healthcare pathways for those living with a rare disease.  Whilst some are debilitating, Laura shares how she, herself found awareness and coping strategies, to live a full life and provides advice to those who may be supporting someone with a rare disease.  Don't treat them differently. Don't underestimate them either. Read up about the disease to gain understanding.
