STRAW PROMPTS

STRAW PROMPTS

We're unpacking Straw, Tyler Perry’s newest vivisection of insurmountable suffering, and the structural sadism embedded in his storytelling. There's parallels to Hereditary, like how both films present protagonists trapped in systems—some supernatural, some systemic— free will is irrelevant.

Then we get into prompt theory: not just in AI, but also social conditioning. The idea that everything—race, gender, trauma responses—is a prompt, and we’ve been training systems to feed them back to us. If Hereditary had a demon, Tyler Perry is the demon. If we’re just living inside a grand simulation, what happens when the prompts aren’t ours anymore?

This one’s a little loopy.
