Under the sheltering branches, a captured dove reunited with her grieving mate. Guided by sacred duty — Atithi Devo Bhava — the he-dove offered fire and, in an act of ultimate sacrifice, gave his own life to feed the guest. His devoted wife soon followed. Witnessing their selfless love, the hunter’s heart was transformed, and he renounced cruelty, becoming a pious sanyasi.
