Florence "Sally" Horner was just 11 years old when she was kidnapped by convicted child rapist Frank LaSalle. For the next 21 months, Frank would take Sally on the road with him, changing their names and telling those he met along the way that Sally was his daughter. Despite law enforcement trying desperately to find and save Sally, Frank always seemed to be one step ahead, moving just in time before the police could catch up to them. Sally would eventually escape from Frank's clutches, but with her freedom came social exclusion and victim blaming from those who knew her story. A few years later, Vladimir Nabokov would publish his critically acclaimed novel, "Lolita", a book that many believe was inspired by Sally's tragic story.
