Qusay's Passing (1988-2025)
Today, we share the heartbreaking news of Qusay Hussein’s passing with heavy hearts and deep reverence for the extraordinary life he lived. Qusay was more than a guest on Stories of Vision Loss—he was a beacon of resilience, a storyteller whose wisdom transcended his blindness, and a man who carried himself with unwavering dignity.

Qusay’s legacy lives on in countless ways—through the Qusay Hussein Humanitarian Award at UT Austin’s School of Social Work, honoring those who, like him, lead with compassion; through the colleagues who credit his spirit as their motivation in dark times; and through his own powerful words: “I believe in the power of stories… By sharing mine, I hope others can learn, grow, and find strength.”

For those wishing to revisit his indelible voice and the lessons he shared, his interview remains a cherished space to remember him as an enduring tribute. The mark he has left on this world will not fade.
