My guest is Daniel Allen Butler, an acclaimed military historian who has written an excellent book titled Field Marshal: The Life and Death of Erwin Rommel. His military career during Hitler’s rise to power and his relationship with the Third Reich. His successful military campaigns, as leader of the Afrika Korps, and how he earned his title ‘’The Desert Fox.’’ How Rommel lost in North Africa and the notable engagements he fought in afterward. Finally, we discuss how and why Rommel died and the events leading up to his suicide.
