As Erin stares longingly at the doorway to her home, the revelation her mother had revealed echoes through her mind. Erin could step through the portal, and she and her son’s physical body would indeed be safe. However, Evan’s soul would be trapped in the dark realm, dooming to an existence of misery and pain. If Erin stays to search for his trapped soul, she will have to do so alone. Her mother, Marsha, must depart at sunset, leaving Erin to walk alone down the dark path of leaves and shadows.
