The Fishing Trip

Maria’s father is very passionate about fishing. It’s his favorite hobby, and he hopes that Maria will enjoy it as much as he does. He plans to take her fishing over the weekend. However, Maria has no real interest in fishing. She doesn’t like the idea of sitting for hours waiting for a fish to bite. At the same time, she doesn’t want to upset her father, who is very enthusiastic about the trip. Maria feels conflicted.Answer 1: Maria could be honest and tell her father she isn’t interested in fishing, while suggesting another activity they could do together.Answer 2: She might decide to give fishing a try, even if she doesn’t expect to enjoy it, in order to share the experience with her dad.Answer 3: She could go along but bring a quiet activity, like a book, so she can spend time with her dad without feeling bored.
