Shelley Rahim, a Postpartum Chef and Caregiver, has been cooking "Ayurvedic" style cuisine for over 30 years. She learnt how to cook South Asian food from her beloved Pakistani Mother-in-law. When Shelley become pregnant at age 18, her mother-in-law took care of her. Feeding her delicous meals in bed and taking care of everything so she could rest. She had an amazing postpartum experience. She felt compassion for other women who were without support after giving birth and entered the birth world professionally in 2007. Shelley's advanced -level-certifications with Sacred Window Studies as an Ayurvedic Postpartum Caregiver was the perfect complement to the cooking skills that were passed down to her.
Over the course of her 15 year career, Shelley has nourished hundreds of mothers with her postpartum recipes and methodology. She witnessed how quickly their bodies recovered from birth, how plentiful their breastmilk was, and how calm and peaceful their minds were under her care. These results inspired her to teach others how to do what she does.
Shelley's postpartum cookbook and online course will be available in the fall of 2023 so that every family will have the tools they need to nourish and take care of the new mother in their lives.
