Pittsburgh Steelers Are STILL All In... | Episode 78
The Pittsburgh Steelers' passing game struggles extend beyond just a lack of standout wide receivers. While it's clear that players like Calvin Austin III, currently a number three option, and Roman Wilson, still developing as a number four, leave much to be desired, the issues run deeper. The offense is hampered by outdated route concepts that have persisted for years, harkening back to the previous offensive coordinator we dare not name. A failure to incorporate effective crossing routes and a reluctance to attack the middle of the field have stagnated the passing attack. Additionally, Aaron Rodgers, though not solely to blame, must elevate his game. His ability to read the field has been commendable for much of the season, but he's contributed to the overall issues plaguing the offense. Exploring these intricacies reveals the real challenges facing the Steelers as they aim to revitalize their passing game. Payton Wilson shows signs of potential resilience and may prove to be an asset for the Steelers. Admittedly, I jumped the gun by comparing him to Ryan Shazier, and you all held me accountable. He hasn't been as physical in the run game as I expected, and he hasn't fully utilized his speed, which is his greatest strength. It's time to reassess and see how he can evolve in his role. Let's dive into what this means for the team moving forward!Broderick is a bust! Hear me out. There's no excuse for the narrative that he's simply growing into the position—he played left tackle for most of his career, with only 18 months of deviation. Enough with the excuses! Week after week, we witness him getting beat inside without any signs of improvement. It’s the same poor hand placement and the same lurching, bent-over stance that never gets corrected. The coaching isn't helping either; Pat Meyer’s performance has been subpar, and it shows—nothing is improving under his watch. Athleticism can only take you so far, and phrases like ""raw"" or ""project"" coming out of college don’t hold water anymore. It's time to face the reality of Broderick's performance. The Pittsburgh Steelers may be on the cusp of a significant rebuild, and evidence suggests that general manager Omar Khan is hinting at this without explicitly saying it. The decision to retain all draft picks during the trade deadline speaks volumes—while there were reports of attempts to make deals, if the organization was fully committed to competing for a Super Bowl, they had the assets to make a move. The glaring holes on the roster highlight areas that desperately need addressing, starting with quarterback. Current options aren't inspiring confidence, particularly with questions surrounding Will Howard’s capability as a starter. The left tackle position remains a concern as well; after discussing Broderick Jones’ struggles, it’s clear more investment is needed. At wide receiver, the implications of neglecting this position are evident, particularly with a lack of reliable route runners like those needed in the draft. In the defensive backfield, while Joey Porter Jr. shows promise, he hasn’t emerged as a lockdown corner as hoped, and depth on the other side remains a critical weakness. Lastly, the interior offensive line is another area ripe for improvement—McCormick provides some stability, but Spencer Anderson hasn’t proven to be a solid option. The time is now for the Steelers to recognize their needs and plan for a brighter future. We ARE...Steelers Almighty!!!__________________________Ways to Support Steelers Almighty: 🛍️ BIG Merch | https://steelersalmightyshop.com/ 🛍️🚨 Become an Almighty!
