Arturo Toscanini, started as an orchestra director at just 19 years old!
He was the first in many things, not just with the Premiers of Otello, Turandot e Pagliacci that he directed at La Scala! He was the first orchestra director playing directly for Radio and TV in New York. He was a Patriot and a big critic of Mussolini, he went away from Europe after being bitten by a Fascist group in Bologna, because he refused to Play fascist music with his orchestra. Toscanini, created the New York Philarmonic Orchestra, incorporating jewish musicians that escaped from the Holocaust in Europe. He directed the First Israelian Orchestra of Tel Aviv in 1936, before the refoundation of Israel in 1948! He was an passionate  lover of Richard Wagners music. He was the first non-German director in the Festival of Bayreuth! He denied to Play for Hitler! His son in-law the Great Jewish Piano player Vladimir Horowitz Rest in the same family tomb in the Monumentale of Milano!
