We caught up with recent graduate Mckenzi Massey ('22; BFA Theatre Arts, emphasis Design and Technical Production; BA English), who's been working with our department as the costume designer for our closing production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. Since graduation, Mckenzi has also started her own custom garment and alterations business—right here in Oxford.

We caught up with assistant professor John Carden to talk about his vision for our department's production of "Little Shop of Horrors."

Today we are talking with Donna Buckley, who is Instructional Associate Professor of Costume Technology, about the very exciting study abroad program she will be leading over May Intersession next year. It’s called “Exploring the Performance and Design of London Theatre,” and is basically two weeks jam-packed with workshops, museum visits, performances, and other experiences. It’s open to students in any major and any year, and as we’ll hear from Donna while it is theatre-focused, it’s going to be a great program for students in many disciplines.

In this episode, we're catching up with new faculty member Annalise V. Caudle, who is an instructional assistant professor of lighting design. Annalise joined our department in the fall of 2021 and jumped in with both feet designing our huge production of LEGALLY BLONDE. In addition to teaching, she'll be creating lighting designs for our upcoming spring-semester shows, HAZEL—an original work created through our new Emerging Women's Playwriting fellowship, more on that later—and ROMEO & JULIET.

Nicole Fava graduated from our program in 2019 with a BFA in Musical Theatre and is back this year to choreograph our first major production—LEGALLY BLONDE—in more than 18 months. We talked about her time in our program as well as her experience choreographing this huge musical.
