In June 2020, during the peak of the Black Lives Matter protests, it felt like our institutions had to have internal reflections on what they wanted to be and represent. Emilie Laflèche, along with others, has helped create a committee inside of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada to address the changing demographics of amateur astronomy in Canada.
